Frequently Asked Questions About Wooton Desks
We’ve gathered some of the most common questions from collectors, designers, and new buyers.
If you don’t find your answer here, please contact us directly — we’re always happy to help.
1. What types of wood do you use?
Our standard options are solid mahogany and teak, both kiln-dried for durability and stability.
Each desk can also include burl walnut or ebony veneer accents, depending on your preference.
Other exotic hardwoods can be quoted upon request.
2. Can I customize the design?
Yes — customization is only limited by your imagination.
You can modify the size, interior layout, carvings, veneer patterns, finish tone, and decorative details.
We can also incorporate modern features such as:
- Hidden compartments
- Locking drawers
- Keyboard pull-outs
- LED lighting
- Electrical access ports
If you can dream it, we can build it.
3. What is the payment process?
We require a 50% deposit to begin production.
The remaining 50% is due upon completion and prior to shipping.
Once your order begins, we’ll provide:
- Production photos at key stages
- Material confirmations (wood, hardware, finish)
- Final inspection photos before packing
This transparency ensures your approval at every stage.
4. How is the desk packaged for shipping?
We use professional export-grade packing to protect every piece.
For single-piece (LCL) shipments:
- Furniture is wrapped in foam and carton,
- Then placed in a plywood crate for maximum protection.
For full-container (20ft or 40ft) shipments:
- Each piece is wrapped in foam and carton,
- Then secured firmly within the container to prevent shifting.
Optional:
Shipping accidents, while rare, can happen.
If you wish to pay for extra-secure packing, we will follow your custom packing specifications exactly.
5. Do you ship worldwide?
Yes.
We ship globally through reputable international freight companies, handling:
- Export documentation
- Crating and customs preparation
- Coordination with your freight forwarder or broker
Clients are responsible for shipping costs, import duties, customs clearance, and local delivery.
We can assist with freight quotes and documentation for any destination.
6. What is the lead time for a custom Wooton Desk?
Production time varies with design complexity, but most orders are completed in 8–14 weeks.
Shipping time depends on destination and shipping method.
We’ll provide an estimated delivery timeline when quoting your order.
7. Can I see the workshop or follow my project?
Absolutely.
We provide regular photo updates during the build, and you can request additional details anytime.
If you’re in Indonesia, we welcome pre-arranged factory visits to our Jepara workshop.
